Today was super long because we got up at 8am and took an adventure to the nothernly part of the coast by train. It was one of the most amazing train rides I have ever seen! We ended up taking the train to Colerain, then took another one to Portrush. Everything is super cold and windy right now, but luckily we didn’t have too much rain..Once we got to Portrush, we discovered that the bus we were then going to take from there to the Giant’s Causeway doesn’t run this time of year on Saturdays - who would’ve guessed that?! So we met this little old lady at the bus station named Wilma where she chatted us up and ended up giving us the number for her friend Steven, whom she said was “really reliable and would love you take you lot up to the Causeway.” Naturally we called Steven and asked if he would drive us, but turns out that he could only fit 4 people, so of course Steven recommended we call Sean who had a “wee little bus” haha….not sketchy at all. Thus, we called him and he picked us up with his 6 person van and drove us up to the Causeway problem free. He agreed to pick us up in 2 hours even and stop at Dunluce Castle on the way back. AWESOME. We spent the afternoon there and wow was it AMAZING there!!! I have never seen anything like the Giant’s Causeway in my life before! After that we just wandered the little town of Portrush and had some good ol’ fish and chips. Everyone we meet has turned out to be SO nice, it’s unreal. One of the locals insisted on showing us the Portrush town hall as well - just on a whim. I absolutely love it here in Ireland so far. I can’t believe I’ve never been here before!
Photos are soon to come when I have more time to use the Internet (it’s really unreliable as to when and for how long I get to use it, plus we’re just so busy as well!).
